Game Preview: Virginia Tech Hokies vs. Miami Hurricanes

After the first bye week for the Miami Hurricanes, they are ready to face Virginia Tech at the Hard Rock Stadium.

On Saturday, October 5, the earliest encounter between the two ACC Coastal Division rivals will take place since 2009.

The game time has been set for 3:30 p.m. and will be televised on ABC, ESPN, or ESPN2.

The exact channel the game will be streamed on should be released after the games occurring on September 27-29.

Out of the five times that the rivals have competed against each other before, the Miami Hurricanes have won four of those games.

Last season, the Miami Hurricanes played the Virginia Tech Hokies on their home turf at Blacksburg, Virginia.

The Hurricanes led the game by 24 points. The final score of the game was 38-14. More information and statistics on last years game can be found here on ESPN’s website.

With a 4-5 losing streak against the Hurricanes, the Hokies will be coming into this matchup with fire in their hearts and revenge on their minds.

So far, the Hurricanes have lost two games this season against the Florida Gators and the North Carolina Tarheels.

However, they also have two wins under their belt against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats and the Central Michigan Chippewas.

The Virginia Tech Hokies have experienced one loss this season against the Boston College Eagles.

They have also achieved two wins against the Old Dominion Monarchs and the Furman Paladins.

The Hokies are scheduled to play the Duke Blue Devils on September 27 at 7 p.m.

Some season leaders for the Virginia Tech Hokies to watch out for in this game are the quarterback Ryan Willis, the running back Keshawn King, and the wide receiver Tayvion Robinson.

For the Miami Hurricanes, some notable players to keep an eye out for include the quarterback Jarren Williams, the running back DeeJay Dallas, and the tight end Brevin Jordan.
